FIRST SUPERNOVA FRONT LIGHT

LIGHT FROM A TOMATO PASTE CAN!The young racer Marcus Wallmeyer had the literally illuminating idea while he was eating pasta in November 1995: “If only I had good light, I could go for a really long training ride, now”… Back then there were no lights available that could be used for long night rides, therefore, he created his own lights. Marcus used a tomato paste can, a halogen bulb and a motorbike battery to create the first Supernova front light in his parents’ garage for his own use. With it, he could continue his endurance training sessions long into the night and through the dark winter months.

THE FIRST SERIES

The very first official Supernova light exhibited the following key traits: aluminum housing, waterproof, robust design with a bottle battery and great reliability. This front light was used successfully in 24-hour races already in the first year it appeared.

BRIGHTEST HALOGEN FRONT LIGHT

After the great success of the single-bulb front light Marcus Wallmeyer thought : “Why not build something twice as bright?” The dual beam technology would remain a typical feature of the strongest Supernova front lights for a decade.

H.I.D. POWER WITH 10,000 VOLTS!

The few people who could afford to buy a P92-D front light for an exorbitant sum of 1,690 Deutsche Mark were the kings of the racecourse. The 10,000 V arc of the H.I.D. bulb was as bright as a modern car headlight.

FIRST MTB LED FRONT LIGHT

With the 48 SEVEN, Supernova created the first off-road capable LED front light that could be used all night without recharging.

FIRST LI-ION BATTERIES!

This multi-functional front light with integrated police signal and a loud siren was developed in close cooperation with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The rugged lithium-ion battery
technology developed for this project would be used for many other lights for years to come – a world first in this field!

FIRST DYNAMO LIGHT

In 2004, we developed our first worldwide serially produced Supernova E3 dynamo light with a power LED. Initially, it was only sold in Switzerland and surpassed everything else available by far.
The matching tail light also offered maximum brightness in a superbly small aluminum housing.

P99D – THE PERFECT H.I.D. LIGHT

With the new handlebar control unit and two H.I.D. bulbs with different beam widths that could even be dimmed, the P99-D was the best possible lighting system available created using the best technology
at the time. Many races were won with these powerful lights.

WALDMEISTER WOODEN BIKE

In 2000, Marcus Wallmeyer designed and built the original Waldmeister Wooden Bike himself. Six years later he decided to have the bike built in an exclusive and strictly limited series to pay homage
to the very first bikes. In 2017, the Waldmeister bike will be shown in the German National Museum in Munich to celebrate the 200-year anniversary of the bicycle.

THE TERRAFLUX LENS

This glare-free lens marked a big step for Supernova; it was our first custom-made lens that was created to fulfill all our performance specifications and is still used today with small modifications
in some of our best front lights.

THE ALL-ROUNDER LIGHT

The M33 was created as the smallest but also the most powerful Supernova battery light to date. This single light replaced all the other battery lights in the portfolio.

FASTEST DYNAMO LIGHT

With the E3 Triple, Supernova showed how much light can be produced by a dynamo light. With this front light, dozens of 24-hour races were won. Its newest successor is still favored by long distance
racers all over the world.

AIRSTREAM: BATTERY LIGHT

The Airstream is our most successful battery light and has received a multitude of awards. The difficult combination of cooling the LED and protecting the high-performance battery was so successful
that this light is still being produced almost unchanged in 2017.

INFINITY HUB DYNAMOS

To offer a worthy power source for its dynamo lights, Supernova developed two dynamos based on an innovative disc generator that had an extremely high efficiency, the best bearings and of course the
well-known good design. Riders using the Infinity S have won many ultra-distance races such as the Transcontinental Race.

OUR FIRST ROAD LEGAL TAIL LIGHT

The highly efficient E3 Tail Light 2 was the smallest road legal rear light in the world even then. It has the potential of becoming a true design classic.

MINIMALISM IN PURE FORM

With the E3 PURE 3, the successful dynamo light became even
smaller and gained in elegance.

THE FIRST LED MATRIX FRONT LIGHT

When Supernova showed the M99 PRO front light with a real 1,600 lumen high beam, a 1,100 lumen low beam and an automotive daytime running light, this was far ahead of its time. The processor-
controlled LED-Matrix allows switching beween the high- and low beam without using any moving parts.

TAIL LIGHT FOR FAST E-BIKES

The tail light for fast E-Bikes and motorbikes, with an integrated brake light and license plate illumination combines all functions and an impressive amount of power in the smallest possible housing.

INTEGRATED SWITCHES

The Supernova switches adapted to brake lever clamps won the Eurobike Gold Award in 2016 for their perfect cockpit integration.

M99 MINI – HIGH BEAM FOR PEDELECS!

The new M99 Generation is 50 % smaller and 40 % lighter than its big brother. This front light makes the use of a road legal high beam compliant with the revised 2017 German road law.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT 20 YEARS!

We cannot exactly predict what technology will be available to us in the coming two decades, but we can assure you that we will stay current and continuously innovate to offer you the best state-of-the-art technologies available. Space ships also need light!
