Why are you commuting the bike or what is the biggest advantage for you?

I am convinced of this: bike commutations is good for the head, health and the environment! I don't like driving at all, especially not in the daily rush hour. To be locked up in the tin can is for me as a morning muffle of the worst case. Starting to commute, however, I already have as a student as an alternative to the nerve-wracking morning screeching in the overland school bus. The journey time by (Kettler 3 gear) wheel was shorter and I was much more flexible. Even then I had enough arguments for commuting by bike.

How long is your way and what does the route profile look like?

Approx. 20km simple way, rather flat, sometimes also with extra grinds over one of the numerous hills or mountains nearby. My early riser favorite round in summer goes, for example, from Waldkirch via the Supernova-Hausberg Kandel back through the Glottertal to Gundelfingen. Unfortunately, the road will be until 2026 from this winter! Cross -renewed. A possible alternative would then be over the Schönberg to the Katztal on the Geiersnest, not quite as high but from Horben from a sack section! Otherwise, if it should be the direct way and is not becoming a mud, it goes through the Mooswald on gravel paths.

What kind of bike do you drive?

I have built up an iconic steel classic car for the way to work: an 80s Concorde in the PDM team edition, the frames were then built by Ciöcc. The Dutch professional team was able to book two second and third place as well as two victories in the team ranking at the Tour de France. My first bike with camp group, mostly chorus. Unusually "crisp" in direct comparison to Shimano or Sram, but also very precisely and defined. The filigree steel frame drives as comfortably as you suspect due to the small pipe diameter.

Do you also drive in winter or in bad weather?

Yes, a three -quarters of an hour actually always works. At lightning ice on my portus #glittermachtFitter singlespeedcrosser with gates belt drive equipped with swallow spiking muffle. At freezing, my heated soles are then used. And: no weather app believes 100% In reality it rains much less often than predicted!

What should not be missing - seasonally -?

Always there: a GPS device (Wahoo Roam or Garmin Fenix clock). Because: #stravaoritdidnthacken 😉 Finally, every meter counts for city cycling and the winter cup ... The saddle bag already stops a lot of water when I rain, when I am without the way, I would be happy to assemble the ASS SAVER WIN WING FLACH. Ruck to the bike and keeps the complete back dry.

What else do you have in your luggage?

I actually have very little on the wheel. A small breakdown set with replacement hose, tire lifter, mini tool and (electrical) pump in case of cases, drinking bottle only at well over 30 degrees. Because drinking is a sign of weakness :-D shockz bone sound headphones for podcasts or music depending on the mood and mood-they still let you perceive the ambient noise.

Additional question: What kind of cool mini pump is that?

The pump was displayed relatively penetrating on Instagram and ignored by me. After seeing her in use with a passenger of the Freiburg Ryzon Cycling Unit and she was full of praise, she found the way to my repair set. In the meantime there is even a version with a digital print display.

Which light of Supernova do you have or do you prefer to drive?

Airstream 2 optionally with Airstream Tail Light 2 - quickly and easily mounted, regardless of which wheel. B54 per battery light - is absolutely suitable for off -road and already "sleepless in the saddle". The 2024 mixed team podium was completely equipped with this headlight. And my personal favorite: the silver DY Pro with high -beam function and very wide light cone for curvy passages, connected to a son dynamo.

What tips do you have for someone who will soon also be a wheel commutor?

Slowly start, take an alternation with a car or public transport, possibly only cover a sub -distance by bike. The body soon gets used to regular training. Very important: Always rise in dry clothes for the way home, otherwise the strongest immune system also gives small.
In the event of the (rain) cases, you can simply deposit a set of bad weather clothes in the workplace permanently. And ultimately aUch while commuting daily: "Everything is a matter of the head - don't think about it for long, just make it!"

A special highlight for our commuters is the campaign every year City cycling, in which there is a lot of struggle for 21 days to draw attention to mobility beyond combustion engines. Every time there are insane kilometers of kilometers within the team. In the city cycling rankings of the municipality and beyond, Supernova is always at the forefront😃
