On your bikes, ready, go!
Hello everyone!
As the founder and CEO of SUPERNOVA, I would like to invite you to learn more about our sustainability initiatives. As a passionate cyclist since childhood, I have always felt a close connection to nature and quickly realized how important it is to protect it. The bicycle is the driving force behind SUPERNOVA and plays a defining role in shaping both our philosophy and our products. Making sustainable business decisions in support of an environmentally friendly mode of transportation is simply the logical thing to do.

This page is intended to give you insight into the decisions we have made, the results they have achieved, and the areas where we can improve in the future. I would be delighted if this page inspires questions and opens the door to a meaningful dialogue. Together, let’s pave the way toward greater sustainability in the cycling industry and inspire more people to embrace environmentally friendly mobility. Greetings from the Black Forest!

On Track for the 1.5°C Target
On Track for the 1.5°C Target
Climate action does not begin on the road. Together with right°, we align our development with a science-based 1.5°C target. To achieve this, we use an emissions budget that shows how many CO₂-equivalent emissions across our entire value chain are compatible with the Paris Climate Agreement. This allows us to measure whether we are on track and identify where we need to improve. As a result, climate impact becomes a key factor in our decision-making—from materials and transportation to our products. Because good intentions alone are not enough. What matters is whether we are actually moving in the right direction. You can learn more in our Corporate Carbon Footprint report.

Retired Batteries. New Energy.
Retired Batteries. New Energy.
The end of an e-bike battery does not have to be the end of its story. Together with EDENenergy, we are giving used bicycle batteries a second life. As part of a pilot project, SUPERNOVA is building a stationary battery storage system from retired e-bike batteries. It stores solar energy and increases the use of renewable energy at our site. In this way, used batteries become energy infrastructure. An industry-wide challenge can become an industry-wide solution. For us, a circular economy means more than just recycling—it means extending the useful life of valuable resources wherever possible and putting them to meaningful use. Learn more about our energy consumption on the Energy Use page or here:

Shared Responsibility for the Bicycle Industry
Shared Responsibility for the Bicycle Industry
Fairness, human rights, environmental protection, and responsible business practices should not be a matter for individual brands alone. That is why companies and organizations in the bicycle industry have jointly developed a Code of Conduct. SUPERNOVA is among the first companies to adopt this Industry Code of Conduct as its own internal standard of conduct. In doing so, we fundamentally commit to shared standards for collaboration.
The industry code is based on internationally recognized guidelines and is complemented by additional SUPERNOVA requirements in the areas of eco-design, circular economy, climate protection, and ESG management. Our goal is to work together with partners and suppliers to contribute to a responsible and future-oriented bicycle industry.

Climate Action Needs Partners
Climate Action Needs Partners
Big challenges cannot be solved alone. Through our climate protection agreement with the state of Baden-Württemberg, we have become part of the Climate Alliance BW. Together with other committed companies, we are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and use energy more efficiently. This agreement provides us with a long-term framework and supports the exchange with other companies.
We are convinced that climate protection requires not only good ideas, but also strong partnerships and the willingness to make a real difference together. Learn more about the Climate Alliance BW at:
