Marcus Wallmeyer, CEO and designer at Supernova, and Michael Fitzek, an electronics engineer, accepted the German Design Award 2020 for the new Supernova M99 Tail Light 2.

The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious design awards globally and enjoys an excellent reputation. With the GOLD Award, Supernova was honored for its outstanding product design as the best in the industry.

The M99 Tail Light 2 is a revolutionary e-bike tail light with integrated brake light. It uses revolutionary light technology, which raises safety standards to an entirely new level. 

"The integrated rear light in the luggage carrier combines a tail light and a brake light with fivefold brightness. It is an absolute innovation of its kind. The tail light is pleasantly homogeneous, demonstrating that it is technically of very high quality. The M99 Tail Light 2 is also the first road-legal tail light with a perfectly homogeneous signature, making it even more attractive. Here, a necessary functional element becomes a cleanly designed bike component that, compared to conventional external tail lights, remains formally practically invisible and thus blends harmoniously into the basic design of the e-bike."

After months of intensive development, the Supernova team is delighted to receive this prestigious award. The M99 tail lights will soon be visible on the road as series production has begun.
