Which front light is compatible with my motor?

What is the difference in the road code approvals?
The German K number applies to bicycles and e-bikes up to 25 km/h. It is recognized in many European countries. Our front lights and tail lights with E-number are approved throughout Europe for L-class vehicles, such as e-bikes up to 45 km/h and light motorcycles up to 125 cc or 4 KW electric.
On which forks can I mount the Supernova MINI 2?
Most 26-inch forks (mostly for mountain bikes) do not have a central hole for fender mounting. If you use a 28 inch fork, then use only Rock Shock Paragon, RST, or Suntour.
Which e-bike lights can I operate with a GoSwissDrive motor?
Only the V1260 and M99 PRO are compatible.
Can I connect headlights with an E-number to a 25 km/h e-bike?
S-Pedelec headlights with E-number are only approved for use on 45 km/h e-bikes and may not be installed on 25 km/h models.
Can a front light for hub dynamos be connected to an e-bike?
Technically, this would be possible. But these headlights are not designed for DC voltage and therefore do not shine brightly enough. Therefore, the answer: No.
Why can't I find a suitable connection cable for my Mahle engine in the accessories?
This is a special cable, which can be ordered only by the dealer under the article number S206800003 directly from Specialized.

Which Supernova e-bike front light can be switched on / off with its own switch?
The V1260 / V1280 can be switched on / off with a switch. The M99 MINI PRO 25 and MINI 2 PRO front lights can be set so that the light can be switched via the high beam button. All other frong lights are switched via the e-bike display.
Which front lights do not have a tail light cable?
Except for the models V1260, V1280 and M99 PRO, none of our e-bike front lights have a tail light cable. The V1260 / V1280 supplies tail lights with 6V DC and up to 0.6W power.
Which front lights have a tail light cable?
The E-Bike V1260 / V1280 has a tail light cable, which can supply our 6V tail lights with up to 0.6 W power. Connecting tail lights from other manufacturers can damage the front light. The M99 PRO can also supply the tail light with a special cable.
.Which Supernova e-bike front light is the brightest?
In the class up to 25 km/h our M99 MINI PRO 25 with 450lm or 1,150lm in the high beam is the brightest. In the 45 km/h category, the M99 PRO is the brightest with 1100lm and 1,600lm respectively.
What does sensor-controlled daytime running light mean?
The front light has an ambient light sensor to automatically switch from daytime running light to low beam in a fraction of a second, for example when entering a tunnel.
.Can the M99 front light be mounted on the B+M Bosch holder?
This combination is not mechanically tested and does not hold permanently. Please use our carbon fiber reinforced holder with improved heat dissipation.
Why does the daytime running light ring have two orange LEDs?
These LEDs ensure compliance with special ECE R87 approval conditions.
Why does my front lens fog up on the M99 and what can I do about it?
In a high-performance front light like the Supernova M99, the internal pressure fluctuates due to temperature differences. To compensate for this and still keep dirt and water away from the optical components, all Supernova M99 front lights are equipped with a breathable membrane like the ones found in modern car headlights. This membrane self-regulates to balance pressure and humidity without allowing salt, soot particles or water to pass through. Nevertheless, small amounts of water vapor can get into the housing when humidity is high. These then settle on the coldest part of the front glass when the wind is cold. This is comparable to a mirror that has slightly fogged up. This is clearly visible from the outside, but up to a droplet size of 0.5 mm in diameter has no perceptible effect on the light image or on the service life of the electronics.The front lights are sealed for transport during production in Gundelfingen. Should you experience a large amount of moisture on the inside of the lens, you can remove the seal to allow moisture to equalize, which may take a few days depending on the environment.
Can I connect the M99 PRO directly to a light port e.g. Bosch, Brose etc.?
No. Most light ports are operating under 6V or 12V. However, the M99 PRO requires an operating voltage of min. 24V-60V. The assembly is usually done on the supply voltage of the battery / motor. Various YouTube assembly videos can be found in our tutorials.
.Can I connect the E3 TAIL LIGHT 2 6V to an e-bike?
Yes, provided that the pedelec has a 6V light connection. Alternatively, the E3 Tail Light 2 is also available in a 12V version.
Which diameter does a seat post need so that an E3 Seat Post TAIL LIGHT can be mounted?
The tail light fits on seat posts up to 35 mm diameter. Aero posts do not fit.
Can the license plate light of the M99 TAIL LIGHT 45 be switched off?
No. However, the M99 TAIL LIGHT in the 25 version is without license plate light.
Can I use a Supernova Tail Light with third-party front lights?
No, because of the different voltages. Our tail light requires 6V direct current. The competitors often work with alternating current
.How long does my Tail Light warranty last?
Like the Dynamo front lights, the warranty is 5 years.
What is included in the scope of delivery for a tail light?
For each of the two variants (Seat Post or luggage carrier) the respective mounting material and an instruction manual is included. Except for suitable tools nothing else is needed.
..Why doesn't the parking light of the tail light work?
The parking light from the E3 TAIL LIGHT (DC) functions only in conjunction with a Supernova front light, because that's where the capacitor is installed.The tail light can be operated with other front lights, but will be irreparably damaged in the long run and the parking light is not supported..Does the parking light on my tail light work with other brands?
Because the parking light capacitor for the rear light is installed in our front lights, the parking light on the Tail Light only works in conjunction with Supernova front lights.
Does the tail light have parking light electronics?
No, the capacitor for this sits in the front lamp.
.Does the E3 TAIL LIGHT operate under DC or AC?
All our tail lights may only be operated with DC voltage. This is provided, for example, by all Supernova front lights with tail light cable or by all e-bike light connectors.
Has the Supernova E3 TAIL LIGHT 2 got road code approval?
Yes, the E3 Tail Light 2 has got the road code / K marking. On the bike, however, in order to be compliant with the German road code, you must also attache a Z-reflector.

Can I convert an E3 Seat Post TAIL LIGHT 2 for mounting on the luggage rack?
No, the tail light is only approved for vertical mounting with slots pointing upwards.
What is the abbreviation "FR" for the TAIL LIGHT 2?
"Flat Rear" - the rear plate is flat, the cable outlet is at the bottom of the housing. This simplifies the mounting on some luggage racks enormously.
Is the Busch & Müller "Brakeline +" tail light compatible with Supernova front lights?
No. This tail light can damage the front light because it requires too much power.
Do Supernova front lights have a daytime running light?
All our dynamo front lights are equipped with the Terraflux lens, which provides an integrated daytime running light. Thus, the front light also provides improved safety during the day by staying on.
Why does only one LED light up on my TRIPLE 2?
Up to a speed of 12km/h only one LED lights up, above that all three LEDs are used. The luminosity increases visibly further up to about 40km/h.
Are the dynamo front lights operated with a direct current or with alternating current?
The dynamo front lights are operated with alternating current.
Does the BuM Brake Line + work with the E3 PRO2?
The BuM taillight is not compatible with our E3 PRO headlight, because it runs on AC power. The E3 PRO gives 6V as direct current to the rear of the taillight.
.Do all Supernova dynamo front lights have a parking light?
Yes, all Supernova dynamo front lights have a minimum of 4-minute parking light, which is also available to the tail lights. This allowed the tail light to be made extremely small.
Which font light has an on/off button?
The E3 PRO2 and the TRIPLE2 have an on/off switch, but the E3 PURE 3 cannot be switched off.
Why don't all Supernova front lights have an on / off switch?
A switch-free design is smaller, more elegant and the on and off function is generally fulfilled on e-bikes via the main control unit. The E3 PURE dynamo headlight is so economical and the LED is so durable that switching off is simply not worth it.
Which front lights have a tail light cable?
The E-Bike V1260 / V1280 has a tail light cable, which can supply our 6V tail lights with up to 0.6 W power. Connecting tail lights from other manufacturers can damage the front light. The M99 PRO can also supply the tail light with a special cable.

The dynamo cables of the rear light may be connected to the dynamo. This can lead to a malfunction, so that the front light can no longer be switched off.
.Why can't I order the Supernova E3 PRO 2 Triple in the store?
The Supernova E3 Pro 2 Triple was developed for race use and does not have a German road code approval. Therefore, it may not be sold in Germany through stores. Customers or stores with a billing / shipping address abroad can order the E3 Pro 2 Triple by mail or by phone directly from us.
How much power does a hub dynamo have to generate?
6 V / 3 W at 15 km/h. We advise against the use of 2.4 W or 1 W dynamos.
Do the dynamo front lights work with side-running dynamos as well?
Technically, yes. However, the riding experience is severely limited with side-running dynamos.
How long is a Supernova dynamo front light warranty?
We give a 5-year warranty on our dynamo lights.
Do Supernova dynamo front light have German road code approval?
All apart from our E3 PRO 2 TRIPLE, which was developed specifically for race use. All our dynamo front lights have the StVZO (German road code) approval.
Can the E3 PRO 2 and the TRIPLE be mounted on the handlebars?
Yes, with the handlebar holder the front lights fit on handlebars with 25.4 and 31.8 mm diameter.
Can you replace the on / off button on my AIRSTREAM?
If the Airstream can no longer be turned on or off, the light band including the button can be replaced.
..Can the battery of the AIRSTREAM be replaced?
Yes, the battery can be replaced by our service team in Gundelfingen.
What is the difference between the domestic and international version of the Airstream?
We have now eliminated this difference in our range: Now all Airstreams have 4 light levels.
How long is the warranty for my AIRSTREAM?
The AIRSTREAM has a warranty of 3 years (battery 2 years)
.Can I charge the AIRSTREAM and use the AIRSTREAM TAIL LIGHT at the same time?
No, this is not possible because the AIRSTREAM has only one connection option.
.Can I mount the AIRSTREAM upside down?
No, the installed optics would otherwise dazzle oncoming traffic. In addition, the warranty is void, because this mounting method can allow moisture to collect inside.
.How long is the service life of the AIRSTREAM battery?
The battery is extremely robust and designed for 500 full charge cycles. With a normal use of 5 days a week for 1.5 hours each, the battery should lasts 4 years until he has reached 80% of its capacity. After that, it can of course continue to be used. Storage in high heat at full charge and charging below 0° C can shorten the service life of the battery. In summer, store the battery at 7-14° C with about 30% charge.
Why does the red / green LED light up earlier in winter?
In cold weather, the voltage of the battery drops and the front light shows this. The lighting time will still be circa 2 h 15 min to 2 h 30 min.
What mounts are available for the AIRSTREAM?
The Airstream can be mounted with the supplied handlebar bracket, the Airstream HBM or with the QR fork mount .
How can I improve the grip of my AIRSTREAM on the handlebars?
You must make sure you've selected the correct rubber adapter for the handlebar diameter. Handlebar diameters below 25.4 mm will not work. After the supplied grip tape has been attached, the headlight can be mounted in a balanced manner.
Can I replace the battery of my AIRSTREAM on my own?
No. The battery should be replaced exclusively by the Supernova Service Team.
How is the AIRSTREAM TAIL LIGHT powered?
The tail light is powered by the smart AIRSTREAMPower Port, so it can only be powered by the AIRSTREAM front light.
.Can you connect the AIRSTREAM TAIL LIGHT to the hub dynamo?
No, the tail light has a plug and can only be used with an AIRSTREAM. Also, it is not possible to connect it because of the different voltage. The AIRSTREAM TAIL LIGHT works with 3.25V.
Which diameter does the seat post need to have so that an AIRSTREAM (seat post) TAIL LIGHT can be mounted?
The AIRSTREAM TAIL LIGHT fits on seat posts up to 35 mm diameter. They do not fit on Aero posts.

Yes, the M99 MINI PRO B54 with 54 Wh battery is the world's brightest legally-approved battery front light with low beam and high beam
.How bright is the M99 MINI PRO B54?
You can ride with the M99 MINI PRO B54 very economically with 75lm/30lx (ECO mode or in high beam mode on maximum power of 1600lm/275lx (MAX mode). What is the capacity of the M99 MINI PRO B54's battery?
The answer is hidden in the name of our B54. The battery has a capacity of 54Wh. The supply voltage is 10.9V DC.
.How long are the cables of the M99 MINI PRO B54?
The supply cable on the lamp head is approx. 26 cm long, the cable on the battery is approx. 10 cm long, so together they are approx. 36 cm long. The high beam cable at the lamp head is approx. 12 cm long, the cable at the high beam switch is 31 cm long, so together approx. 43 cm. For the high beam cable we offer a 100 cm long extension cable. The supply cable cannot be extended.
How long is the warranty on the battery of the M99 MINI PRO B54?
Between 3-5 years. If you use the fully automatic Longlife mode for more than 50% of the battery's service lifetime and make sure that the battery is not left fully charged for extended periods in a hot car, the warranty will be extended from 3 to 5 years. Even without using the Longlife mode, we still give an exceptional 3-year warranty.
What is the B54 Supernova APP?
The Supernova App for the M99 MINI PRO B54 is predominantly designed for use while riding. It can be installed on Android or Apple iOS smartphones or smartwatches. On the Nightride screen, the app shows the currently activated light level as well as the additional available light modes with the respective exact light times. Various amenity functions can be easily activated or deactivated via the app, such as the long-life mode. The app always shows you the current health status of the battery and the steadily increasing warranty period, which can extend to five years if the battery is treated well. It helps a lot not to store the battery in the hot car in midsummer. Those who do not want to use the cell phone while riding can of course program and control the front light without an app.
Can I use the M99 MINI PRO B54 without the Supernova app?
Yes, you can use your B54 without the app. Without the app, however, only 3 light levels are permanently available to you. Low beam, ECO and standard are always stored, in the high beam mode you must make a choice and program either ECO, standard or MAX mode.
What is the Longlife mode?
The Longlife mode ensures a particularly long life of the battery cells. Through a special processor-controlled charge, this mode prevents any overheating of the cells during the charging process. In this mode, the battery is charged to only 85%, which prevents harmful high battery voltage.
What does hibernation mode mean?
If you do not use the battery for a long time, you can simply put it into hibernation mode. It is then attached to the charger at an optimum voltage. Thus, the chemical aging of the battery is almost completely stopped and a deep discharge prevented.
What is the Coming Home mode?
On arrival at home, you can simply leave your front light on. An integrated vibration sensor detects the end of the ride and turns off the light after a few automatically so that your way out of the dark bike shed still remains illuminated.
What does reserve light mean?
Two hours of ECO low beam are always automatically available to you after the normal lighting time has expired. This mode is still significantly brighter than many other front lights on the market.

Can I attach a tail light to the M99 MINI PRO B54?
No. Neither the front light nor the battery have a connection option for a tail light.

No. Currently, we do not have a matching battery tail light in the range. However, stay tuned....
Why can't my headlight connect to my smartphone?
Please check if Bluetooth is turned on on your phone. If you're using an Android smartphone, make sure that location sharing is enabled.
How long do is the warranty on Supernova products?
Depending on the front light it's between 2 and 5 years. Details can be found on the respective product pages. Even after the expiry of the warranty period, we're happy to help you gladly and with great goodwill.
How long will it take to process my complaint?

Where are your lights produced?
Nearly all products that go on sale in retail stores worldwide are manufactured at Supernova in Gundelfingen near Freiburg im Breisgau. We select our suppliers according to the highest quality and environmental criteria. All lenses and reflectors and most of the electronics and LED chips are manufactured in Germany. Our aluminum housings come from Taiwan, the batteries are produced in Japan, the gold connectors and some fiber-reinforced materials come from Switzerland. Everything reaches us via CO2-neutral shipping.
Does Supernova provide sketches and schematics?
Technical drawings are available in the instructions, which can be downloaded. Circuit diagrams are not provided, so as not to take away the fun of figuring out your competitors.
Where can I buy the Supernova horn?
The horn is currently not a Supernova product and is only installed by bike manufacturers on complete bicycles. We show them only at trade shows as a functional example of our horn button.
What does Supernova do specifically for sustainability?
Sustainability is a fundamental issue for us. We are constantly trying to improve in all areas. More than 50 % of our employees already cycle to work. We have an electric car for the company which we use for short trips and we have our own electric charging station. We manufacture our products without using PVC or lead, and our shipping department uses paper tape instead of PVC tape. The goods are shipped CO2-neutral. You can find more information here.
How do I care for my Supernova front light?
We recommend a soft cloth and some water for cleaning. Please never clean the front light with alcohol-based cleaning agents and never use a high-pressure cleaner.
