SUPERNOVA Design GmbH develops and sells high-quality bicycle lighting and electronic products. According to European and national legislation, certain products are subject to information obligations vis-à-vis end users. With the end-user information, we provide this information centrally, comprehensibly and permanently available.
In particular, the information should help to use our products safely and responsibly, to collect and properly return certain product components separately and to support the reuse and recycling of valuable raw materials. At the same time, they fulfil our legal information obligations towards end users.
The separate collection and proper treatment of waste batteries helps to recover valuable raw materials, conserve natural resources and avoid possible impacts on people and the environment.

Separate collection of used batteries
Used batteries must not be disposed of via household waste. They shall be collected separately after use and returned to a suitable collection point. The separate collection enables the reuse and recycling of valuable raw materials as well as environmentally friendly treatment of waste batteries.
Free return of used batteries
You can return used batteries free of charge to suitable collection points. This includes in particular:
- public collection centres
- municipal recycling centres,
- Distributors, insofar as legally for return
obligated to: - other collection points provided for by law.
National return options
In addition to Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, national regulations on the return and disposal of used batteries apply. You can return used batteries free of charge, in particular to the distributors legally obliged to take them back and to public disposal companies.
Meaning of the symbol of the crossed-out garbage can
Batteries marked with the symbol of the crossed-out dustbin must not be disposed of with household waste. The symbol indicates that used batteries must be collected separately and sent to a suitable collection point. The symbol may be on the battery, the packaging or the accompanying documents, insofar as this is required by the applicable

Practical advice for end users
The following information serves the safe handling of used batteries and goes beyond the statutory minimum requirements.
- Only return used batteries to suitable collection points.
- Never throw used batteries into household waste or into the fire.
- Damaged or leaked old batteries should be treated as carefully as possible. Avoid direct contact with emerging substances.
- If necessary, tape the poles of removed or damaged used lithium-ion batteries with a suitable non-conductive adhesive tape to avoid short circuits during transport.
- Keep used batteries as dry as possible until they are returned and protected from heat and direct sunlight.

SUPERNOVA uses only rechargeable lithium-ion device batteries in the products provided for this purpose. Whether a battery can be removed or replaced by the end user depends on the respective product design and the information in the product-specific operating instructions. Information on the safe use, care and - if provided - the replacement of a battery can also be found in the respective product documentation. Separate collection of WEEE
Waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of via household waste. They shall be collected separately after use and transferred to a suitable collection or collection point. The separate collection enables preparation for reuse, recycling and environmentally sound treatment of WEEE.
Return options
You can return WEEE to the collection and return points provided for by law. This includes in particular:
- municipal collection points,
- municipal recycling centres,
- distributors, insofar as they are legally obliged to take back,
- other collection points provided for by law.
The return takes place within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions.
Protection of personal data
WEEE may contain personal data. Before you hand over an old device for disposal or return, you are responsible for deleting all personal data from the device.
Removal of batteries and accumulators
If used batteries or old batteries can be separated from the old device without destroying the device, you should remove them before handing over the old device and dispose of them separately. Please note the instructions in the respective

Meaning of the symbol of the crossed-out garbage can
Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol of the crossed-out dustbin must not be disposed of via household waste after use. The symbol indicates that the device must be collected separately and sent to an appropriate collection or return point. The icon is usually on the device. If this is not possible due to the size or function of the device, it may be on the packaging, the instructions for use or other accompanying documents.

- As far as possible, remove personal data from electronic devices before returning them.
- Do not damage old equipment wilfully. Professional treatment facilitates the reuse and recycling of the materials contained.

Packaging shall be collected and disposed of separately after use in accordance with local collection systems. Separate collection and proper disposal of packaging help to keep valuable raw materials in circulation, conserve natural resources and reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste.
Markings on packaging
Packaging can be provided with labels that support you in the correct separate collection and disposal. These markings contain in particular information about the packaging material used or the recommended assignment to the respective collection systems. Please note the respective markings and dispose of the packaging according to the locally applicable collection and disposal systems.
Components of the packaging
If a packaging consists of different materials, separate them - as far as possible - from each other and feed them to the respective collection systems. This allows the individual materials to be recycled better.

- Fold cardboard packaging together if possible to save space in the collection containers.
- Separate packaging components
