COMMUTING - WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO DO IT? #3
27/10/2023
Get out of everyday life and into adventure!
Accompanies our employees again this winter on their daily trip to work. Whether sporty or relaxed - there is something for everyone here. Take a deep breath, get your head free and enjoy nature - all of this awaits you on the way to work when you switch to the bike. Look at the equipment with which our colleagues are on the road. Let yourself be inspired and find out what you would like to commute to work.
It is best to try it out yourself! Drive out of the everyday grind, into adventure and experience freedom on two wheels every morning. We look forward to accompanying you on the way to a common green future!
Sebastian, 46 years, accounting
Why are you commuting the bike or what is the biggest advantage for you?
There are several reasons: First of all, you keep fit and use the pendulum time for movement. As a result, you can already get fresh and cheerfully at work in the morning and do not need a coffee to wake up. You also save money when it – As in my case – A car replaces (just think of insurance, tax, repairs, fuel, etc.). You don't waste time to stand in the traffic jam. You can switch off well on little -called business routes or think about things that you hardly take any other time. And environmental protection is still available free of charge.
How long is your way and what does the route profile look like?
Currently 17.3 kilometers with 52 meters of altitude. The route from Opfingen via the March to Gundelfingen mainly consists of farm roads, occasionally bike paths and side streets, everything.
What kind of bike do you drive?
I use two different bikes for commuting: a 17-year-old Velomobil brand go-one³ from Beys's light vehicles. This is a fully clad -lying download. With this, I have a bicycle ride with good weather protection in front of the cold, rain, snow or wind. In the warm season I like to use an S-Pedelec (Super Commuter) from Trek because it gets pretty warm in the Velomobile and the pleasant wind is missing.
Do you also drive in winter or in bad weather?
Yes, I prefer to work in the colder season, in the transition or in bad weather with the Velomobil. I have a corresponding equipment on winter and protective clothes, but I use them more for leisure activities.
What should not be missing - seasonally -?
Multitool (is rarely needed, but is extremely helpful), sunglasses in summer than insect protection. Also first aid set, pump, patch stuff, replacement hose. What else do you have in your luggage? Laptop, charging cable, Vesperbox, fresh change clothes for the office.
Which light of Supernova do you have or do you prefer to drive?
A Mini 2 Pro on the Velomobil, an M99 Pro on the S-Pedelec (I find high beam extremely important over land). I use an E3 Pro or an Airstream 2 on other leisure activities.
What tips do you have for someone who will soon also be a wheel commutor?
Try it out when the weather is nice and -if you get a taste – Remove bit by bit. Due to the e-bikes, distances are no longer a real reason. A onion tactic (with several thin layers) is never wrong with clothing.
A special highlight for our commuters is the campaign every year City cycling, in which there is a lot of struggle for 21 days to draw attention to mobility beyond combustion engines. Every time there are insane kilometers of kilometers within the team. In the city cycling rankings of the municipality and beyond, Supernova is always at the forefront😃
