As the founder and CEO of SUPERNOVA, I’d like to invite you to explore our sustainability efforts. I’ve been an avid cyclist since childhood, always feeling close to nature and quickly realizing how important it is to protect it. The bicycle is the driving force behind SUPERNOVA and shapes both our philosophy and our products. Making sustainable decisions within the company is only logical for a brand built around eco-friendly mobility.

SUPERNOVA REDSTREAM: Innovation for Sustainable Mobility

With 80% higher energy efficiency than conventional models and maximum visibility thanks to its distinctive light signature, the REDSTREAM series sets new standards. Available as both front and rear lights, the system stands out for its easy repairability: A smart rail system allows for tool-free replacement of the battery and circuit board in seconds—for a longer product life and less electronic waste.

Ready, set, ride: Promoting Sustainable Mobility

As an active part of the cycling community, we’re committed to both seasoned bike enthusiasts and newcomers. Through our established event series “SUPERNOVA meets...”, we create regular meet-ups. We also support local events such as the “Schwarzwald SUPER!” cycling marathon and take part each year in initiatives like “Stadtradeln” and “Winterpokal” to encourage other companies to embrace climate-friendly mobility.

New PV System: Cutting Emissions Through Renewable Energy

Our new photovoltaic system at SUPERNOVA’s production site in Germany enables an energy self-sufficiency rate of up to 75 % and saves around 5.2 tons of CO₂ annually—the equivalent of what about 250 beech trees absorb. We now cover three-quarters of our electricity needs ourselves, independently of grid operators and price surges. The smart-grid-enabled modules still provide 85 % of their output after 25 years and are a key building block for a decentralized energy transition.

Since 2022, SUPERNOVA has been operating a certified environmental management system according to ISO 14001. This allows us to systematically improve our environmental performance, set measurable targets, and regularly assess our progress. For us, certification is not a finish line—but a milestone on the path to responsible, resource-efficient business.
